1. Instead of taking apart the “Colossian
heresy” point by point, the Holy Spirit guides the apostle Paul to present a
positive presentation of the truth of the preeminence of Christ: In order to recognize the counterfeit one
must be able to recognize the genuine (1-2).
2. Doctrinal truth (1-2) must bear fruit in
practical conduct (3-4).
3. If then you were raised with Christ, seek
those things which are above, where Christ is…Set your mind on things above
(3:1-4).
Conclusion: Read Colossians
and gain a fresh appreciation for Christ as the fullness of God and the only
source for living the life we were created to live!
