The Cloud and the Fire

Numbers 9:15-23 has always reminded me of the children's game "Simon says."

"At the commandment of Jehovah they encamped, and at the commandment of Jehovah they journeyed: they kept the charge of Jehovah, at the commandment of Jehovah by Moses" (Numbers 9:23; ASV).

When Jehovah said, "Camp," they camped. When Jehovah said, "Journey," they journeyed. Obedience to His voice keeps us from getting ahead of or falling behind the true and living God.
