Jeremiah 25:1-14

Who:  Jehovah, Jeremiah, the people of Jerusalem and Judah

What:  The word of Jehovah concerning the Babylonian captivity

When:  The 4th year of King Jehoiakim's reign (606/605 BC)

Where:  Jerusalem, Judah

Why:  To remind those still in Jerusalem who watched Daniel and others led out of Judah to Babylon that they have not listened, that Nebuchadnezzar is just getting started, the captivity is going to last for 70 years, and then Babylon will punished for their sin.

1 Peter 4:17-19; NKJV
17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

18 Now

"If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?"

19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.
