Judgment Against Babylon

Jeremiah 50-51 was written during the 4th year of Zedekiah (594/93 BC)

Seriah (Baruch’s brother) was to read this prophecy in Babylon and then throw it into the Euphrates River (51:59-64) symbolizing the complete destruction of the Babylonian empire.

Babylon comes to symbolize the Anti-GOD system that seeks to rule the world (see Revelation 14:8; 16:19; 17:5; 18:2, 10, 21).
