1. The Thessalonians were characterized by
faith, love, hope, joy in the Holy Spirit, evangelism, patience and
steadfastness (1:3-10; 3:6-8).
2. The Thessalonians were exhorted to perfect
what is lacking, increase and abound in love to one another and to all, abound
more and more, increase more and more (2:13;
3:10-12; 4:1, 10; 5:23).
3. The Thessalonians were to comfort one another
with words – words pertaining to the second coming of Jesus (4:18; 5:11,
23-24).
